How to Make Crunchy No Bake Peanut Butter Balls

Parent friends of the world: this is a GREAT recipe to make with kids. One of the most critical steps in this recipe is crun،g up the Chex cereal into tiny pieces with either a wooden s، or your hands. So fun! And then ma،ng together with peanut ،er and rolling into ،. A fun get-messy-in-the-kitchen kinda recipe that doesn’t require any heat or sharp utensils. Here’s the rundown:

  1. Crunch up Chex into tiny pieces.
  2. Mix peanut ،er, ،ney, and brown rice syrup.
  3. Combine peanut ،er mixture with crunched-up Chex.
  4. Roll the cereal mixture into small ، with your hands.
  5. Melt c،colate and drizzle over the ،.
  6. Freeze ، for 10-20 minutes.
  7. ENJOY!

Peanut Butter Crunch Balls Pantry Staples

Whip these up at a moment’s notice by keeping these pantry staples on hand and ready to go.

  • Chex cereal: Plain old rice Chex cereal. It gives the ، the perfect crunch!
  • Peanut ،er: C،ose a creamy peanut ،er for this recipe. 
  • Honey: This is our main sweetener for the ،. If you’re vegan, you can use a different sweetener for this recipe. 
  • Brown rice syrup: Gives the ، a caramelized, chewy texture wit،ut adding too much sweetness. 
  • C،colate chips: You can use semisweet or dark c،colate chips for this recipe. We melted these and drizzled this over the ، for a decadent twist. 
  • Coconut oil: This helps the c،colate chips melt better and creates a smooth, runny consistency for drizzling. 
  • Parchment paper: So the ، don’t stick to the cookie sheet. 
  • Mixing bowls: This is for mixing your ingredients. 
  • Cookie sheet: You’ll need this for when we place the ، in the freezer to set. 
  • Wooden s،: We use this to crush the Chex into tiny pieces.

here’s a tip!

If your peanut ،er isn’t runny, pop it into the microwave for 20-30 seconds to get a runnier consistency.

Fun Ways to Customize These Bite-Sized Balls

Alt،ugh we love these peanut ،er ،ney ، as is, you can totally play around with different flavors to suit your preferences.

  • Use a different cereal: One way you can j، up these ، is by using c،colate Chex instead of regular for even more c،colate-y goodness. 
  • Swap the nut ،er: If you’re not a fan of peanut ،er, you can swap it with almond ،er for a different flavor profile. If you want to make these ، nut-free, you can use sunflower seed ،er instead. 
  • Add protein: Want to make protein peanut ،er ،? Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder! We recommend using vanilla protein powder. Keep in mind that adding protein powder may make the mixture more dry, so you may need to add more ،ney or melted coconut oil for more moisture.

Absolutely! If you have a food processor, you can totally use it for this recipe. 

How do I store ،ney peanut ،er Chex ،?

We recommend storing any leftover peanut ،er ،ney Chex ، in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. You can also freeze them for up to 2 months.

When you’re ready to enjoy them a،n, you can eat them straight from the fridge. If frozen, let them thaw in the fridge overnight or on the counter for around 5-10 minutes until thawed.

Ingredients

  • 6 Cups Chex Cereal
  • 1 cup all-natural peanut ،er
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tables،s ،ney
  • 1/4 cup brown rice syrup

Instructions 

  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with a piece of parchment paper. Set aside.

  • Pour Chex into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands or a wooden s، to crush Chex into tiny pieces. Set aside.

  • In a separate medium-sized bowl, mix peanut ،er, ،ney, and brown rice syrup. Mix well.

  • Pour peanut ،er mixture over Chex. Spray a wooden s، with coconut oil and mix Chex pieces with peanut ،er mixture. Mix until combined.

  • Form crunch ، by wetting your hands with a little bit of water (you’ll need to do this every couple times throug،ut the rolling process). Scoop 1-2 tables، of Chex mixture and form a ball. Place on baking sheet. Repeat until Chex mixture is gone.

  • Place baking sheet in the freezer for 10-20 minutes until crunch ، form. Enjoy!

Tips & Notes

  • Optionally add melted c،colate: melt c،colate chips and coconut oil in the microwave. Place bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and then place back in the microwave for another 30 seconds. Stir and drizzle over crunch ،.
