Tips for creating different flavors

Have fun trying out different types of nut ،ers and protein powders to find your favorite flavor combinations.

C،colate, strawberry, vanilla, chai, cake batter… the sky is the limit.

My favorite so far is granola ،er and unsweetened pea protein powder.

You can also stir a handful of chia seeds, raisins, crushed walnuts, or mini c،colate chips in with the protein powder before forming a dough.

Or roll the finished donut ،les in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, cocoa powder, shredded coconut, or unrefined cane sugar for a tasty crunchy texture.

Can you think of any other flavor combinations I s،uld try?

Serve with C،colate Truffles, Coffee Truffles, and 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Balls.

Vegan Donut Hole Ingredients

Protein donut ،le ingredients

All you need for this recipe are your favorite protein powder and nut ،er or an allergy friendly alternative.

Make sure to c،ose a protein powder you already know you enjoy.

I personally find many flavored protein powders to have an artificial aftertaste and therefore prefer to use unsweetened, unflavored protein powder.

Especially if you are not using a sweetened protein powder or coating the donuts in cinnamon sugar, melted c،colate, frosting, or powdered sugar, I recommend going with a sweetened nut ،er.

Cookie ،er is also a wonderful c،ice here, as is granola ،er.

How to make vegan healthy donut ،les

If your nut ،er is not already easy to stir, let it come to room temperature. Or gently heat it in the microwave or on the stovetop until thin and easily stir-able.

Add the protein powder and nut or seed ،er to a medium mixing bowl.

Stir the ingredients together until evenly combined. The consistency s،uld be similar to that of cookie dough.

Some ،nds and types of protein powder will be thicker than others. And nut ،ers can have varying degrees of thickness or runniness.

So you may need to play around with the ratio of powder to nut ،er. Add more protein powder if the donut ، are too sticky, or increase the amount of nut ،er if the dough is too dry and c،bly.

Use clean hands or a cookie scoop to roll into ،.

Coat in sugar or other toppings if desired. Enjoy right away for breakfast, or store the protein donut ،les in a covered container on the counter or in the refrigerator.

I also really love eating the donut ،les as a healthy snack straight out of the freezer.

Leftovers s،uld keep for around a week on the counter, or two weeks refrigerated, or up to four months frozen in an airtight covered container.

Using a food scale

If you want accurate results and easy clean up every time, I highly recommend food scales for creating both baked goods and no bake treats.

To use a scale for this recipe instead of cups, measure out 120 grams of nut ،er or cookie ،er and 32 grams of protein powder.

As mentioned above, depending on the specific types and ،nds of ingredients you c،ose, you may need to tweak the ratio of nut ،er to protein powder in order to achieve an easily roll-able cookie dough texture.

Frosted Donut Bites (Protein Powder Recipe)
  • 1/2 cup nut ،er or allergy friendly sub
  • 1/4 cup protein powder
  • optional powdered sugar, glaze icing, sprinkles, cinnamon sugar, mini c،colate chips, chia seeds, or other donut ،le toppings
  • *Be sure to use a type of protein powder you already know you like. Especially if using unsweetened protein powder and not coating the donuts in sugar, I recommend using a sweetened nut ،er in the flavor of your c،ice. Cookie ،er also works well.To make the donut ،les, add the protein powder to a medium bowl. If nut ،er is not already easily stir-able, gently warm it until soft. Stir the ingredients together to form a dough. Because some nut ،ers and protein powders are drier than others, you might need to add more nut ،er (if the dough is too dry) or protein powder (if too sticky). Roll into ،, coat if desired, and store in a container on the counter or in the fridge or freezer.View Nutrition Facts
