Tips for the best Rasta Pasta

  • Use ،led and deveined shrimp. Taking off the skins and pulling out the vein can be a pain, so save yourself the trouble by getting them already prepped.
  • Cook the pasta al dente. To keep the pasta from getting mushy as it continues to cook in the ،t sauce, make sure to cook it to al dente in the beginning.
  • Cook the shrimp through. You’ll know when the shrimp is done when it turns opaque and pink, the tail curling in.
  • Let it rest. This gives the pasta and shrimp time to absorb the flavors of the sauce and ،es so it tastes even better.

Variations to this Recipe

  • Use Half & Half. Make this pasta dish a little lighter by using Half & Half in place of the heavy cream. It will still be rich and creamy, but with less ،.
  • Subs،ute the protein. In place of the shrimp, you can also make this recipe with chicken, pork, or fish.
  • Add other vegetables. You can make this with diced tomatoes or scallions. Or add some more heat with sliced jalapeños.
  • Subs،ute another type of pasta. In place of penne, you can make this recipe with fusilli, bucatini, fettucine, or gluten-free penne.

How to Store and Reheat it

Store this delicious Rasta Pasta in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will last for about 3 days. To reheat it, place it in a saucepan and heat it slowly, stirring in some extra cream to help bring it together. You can also warm it in the microwave.
